Akshay Kumar's Childhood and his Early Career Kick Start

 Akshay Kumar is known predominantly as Khiladi. His actual name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia and took birth on 9^th September 1967. Akshay Kumar’s life is full of struggle since his childhood but nothing comes easy. He struggled whole throughout his life and is now currently a superstar and is listed in top 10 in Forbes List.

He took birth in Amritsar, Punjab, India in a Punjabi family. His father’s name is Hari Om Bhatia and mother’s name is Aruna Bhatia. Since his childhood, Akshay Kumar was into sports and fitness and his father also was a lover of wrestling. Akshay Kumar lived and grew up in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk. When her sister, Alka Bhatia, took birth, their family were living in Koliwada, Punjab.

Since childhood Akshay Kumar was learning Karate and received his education from Don Bosco High School, Matunga. For higher education, he went to Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Arts, Science and Commerce, and later dropped out because of less interest in studies. As he was interested in martial arts and karate, he requested his father to learn martial arts further and his father send him to Thailand by giving money from his savings. Akshay went to Bankok and lived there for 5 years and learned Thai Boxing.

But somewhere or the other, he had a keen interest in becoming an actor as he expressed this when he was asked by his father about his goal. Since childhood only he was a funny kind of person. His presence and his jokes kept the family smiling always and maintained a happy family life.

After black belt in Taekwondo, he learned Muay Thai in Bangkok. He also worked there as chef and waiter. Later, he came back from Bangkok and went to Kolkata and joined a travel agency and also sold Kundan jewellery in Delhi. After returning Bombay, he started his own martial art teaching classes where he used to teach girls about martial arts too. He saved a lot of money while he worked as a chef, waiter, in travel agency and as a jewellery seller in Delhi. With his hard-earned money, he managed to build a set up where he could teach martial arts to all interested boys and girls. He was not limited in teaching martial arts to boys only, rather he gave equal efforts and time in teaching martial arts to girls. Gradually he became popular as a martial art teacher as during that time no one was much into martial arts.

Day-by-day students number increased and he was doing in terms of earning money for his livelihood. As students number increased, he had to appoint co-ordinator to manage all students and one of his students’ father who himself was a model recommended him to try into modelling as he was tall, young and handsome. Then Akshay Kumar approached to a furniture showroom who needed a model to shoot for their product advertisement. They signed him for their project and in the first two days of shooting for an ad he made good money which was more than that which he used to earn in a month through his martial art classes.

Since then he decided to continue his career in modelling and gave the authorization to one of the co-ordinators to manage his martial art classes. He then worked as an assistant for photographer Jayesh Seth for about 18 months and he was not paid for these 18 months as an assistant. Even Akshay Kumar did not ask for any money as he was preparing his first portfolio for the shoot. He also worked as background dancer in many movies which was not noticed. He had been struggling to get a good position in modelling industry and one morning he missed his flight for an ad-shoot in Bangalore and he was very much disappointed with himself. As he had done so much preparation, he did not want to return home empty handed, so he approached a film studio along with his portfolio. Luckily Akshay Kumar got his first movie as a lead actor produced by Pramod Chakravarthy for the movie Deedar. That day his disappointment turned into happiness and he felt himself lucky to miss the flight as he entered into cinema industry, one step closer to one of his dream goal to be an actor.

And he created history and currently he is bollywood’s highest paid actor after having seen so much ups and downs in his career. This way he gave a kickstart to his acting career and led the journey all alone without anyone’s support and he himself had no family background belonging to cinema industry. He is really an inspiration and motivation to crores of people in the country and we are lucky to get a genuine actor like Akshay Kumar.
